Saturday was like the first official day that we spent going out for our Easter break. Considering nothing was opend during Easter friday. During the day, met up with Amy, Isaac and Nic for yum cha at Chinatown. But before that, Nic insisted on meeting me earlier for coffee.. (Not that I'm complaining tho I was late. Terrible me). But anyway, I got there and Nic was already there on a comfy seat.
I got this:

My White Hot Chocolate with the wonderful sign - Where will I meet You?
While Nic got this...

Nic's 'spider' drink with lemonade (a supposedly interesting combination)

After which we realised that we were late in catching the train and rushed down to Indooroopilly station. And realised that the train was here but if we bought a ticket, we would be late in meeting Amy and Isaac at Brunswick. So we decided to hop on the train and hopefully not get caught on the way to Brunswick and wanted to stop by Central station to see if we could buy tickets. But we forgot that the ticketing machine in Central is outside the station, not within the station itself. So we had to crack our brains to see what train stations had ticketing machines within the station itself. Decided on South bank.. Bought our tickets and by that time, it was already past the time to meet the both of them. While the train took its bloody long sweet time to come, we decided to take pictures..

Us at South Bank station.. Waiting for that dratted train

Us as South Bank Station once more..

Last pic I promise at South bank Station. Showed how long the train took to come..
And Finally the train arrived. By that time it was already 1150 am. Our arranged meeting time was 11am. We were late by 50 mins! Actually we realised that we might as well have taken the next train, save the trouble and might have been there earlier. But we decided not to get us down and continued to have dim sum at Chinatown..

The huge amount of tim sum we had...

Nic and her Tau Huey

Isaac and Amy and their shared lovey bowl of tau huey...

Me and my watermelon dessert..
After which we were totally shagged and ful from eating. And went to the Chinatown markets to look around. So tempting to buy stuff but I controlled, for some reason! Went back early cos I had to do grocery shopping.. Shagged out after half a day of Yum Cha!

On our way back.. Isaac and Amy

As you can see I'm shagged in the middle of the day...

A much better pic of us.. mwhaha..

I love my Ippy town gang. I really do.. Cos they are friends for keep. Friends who I have stayed with over the last year and gone through a whole heap of things with me.

Part 2 of Saturday coming up. Right now.. Sleep is important for the Sunshine coast tomorrow..

In Singapore, the majority of us live in Highly Dangerous Buildings (HDB),

And most people have already got used to Paying and Paying (PAP).
Not only do you have to pay, you Pay Until Bankrupt (PUB).
If that's not enough, somebody still Purposely Wants to Dig (PWD) and get
more from you.

So what more can you do when you are in the Money Only Environment (MOE)?
With the current Mad Accounting System (MAS), you are forced to Pay the
Sum Ahead (PSA),
Which will leave some people Permanently Owing Some Banks (POSB).
And forced to live on the Loan Techniques Always (LTA) system.

When you fall sick and happen to be admitted to a Money Operating Hospital
(MOH),
You might be able to use your Cash Prior to Funeral (CPF) fund.
If you are out of luck, you may meet doctors who Never Use Heart (NUH) to
treat you,
And you will be Sure to Give up Hope (SGH).

To help ease the traffic, motorists have to pay Cash On Expressway (COE).
If that doesn't help, they can always Eternally Raise Prices (ERP) on the
roads.
If you don't own a car, you can always make a Mad Rush to the Train (MRT),
OR get squashed in a bus Side By Side (SBS).

Lastly, under all these pressures, there are not many places we can relax,
Not even the good old place we used to go because it has become
So Expensive and Nothing To See Actually (SENTOSA)!!!

I once did a feature on a toilet bowl restaurant in Taiwan. Well, kinda of a feature but I realised that Philip gave me pictures on that toilet bowl restaurant again. I'm quite sure that its not the same one but I never know. So I decided for the benefit of everyone (as if people read this blog), to do another feature with new pictures.

The Toilet Restaurant once again...

It looks quite enjoyable tho..

The wonderful meal on a toilet bowl again...

Side view...

Dessert once again in the toilet bowl...

The ugh melted version...

Hm.. Toilet Bowl Restaurant. Wonder if it really exists. Mwhaha.. Enjoy your easter break guys.

Easter friday is boring. Why? Cos no shops are open. That's the policy

here. Shops are seldom open during public holidays. Oh well.. Played

mahjong till about 6am this morning and then I talked to baby till

about 8am. Slept till about 230pm and woke up to this very nua-ed

easter friday. Now I'm really bored trying to do work at Teddy's place

and started taking pictures as to what everyone's doing at this 2nd

home of ours.

This little green thing here was performing war dances on my Easy Mac wrapper, literally moving from side to side as if it was going to pounce on me anytime. It was seriously amusing..

Today I took part in an experiment regarding Singapore english. How our culture affects our way of living in Australia. And whether there are any culture clashes that lead to misunderstandings. It was really interesting cos I was talking to 3 other Singaporeans (Wayne, Luke and Gen) about our experiences in Australia. All the funny encounters that we actually get while studying here.. Always interesting to know what your fellow countrymen have gone through. Though the thingy was recorded via video tape, it was one of the more relaxed experiments that I have gone through. I wish the experimentor all the best in her thesis. :)

Went Chinatown to do groceries yesterday. Actually, its just an excuse to go out. Have been going out really late these weekends. Went to Yuen's to do grocery shopping buying chinese foodstuffs. Stuff that you cant get in normal supermarkets, like for example really expensive pandan leaves for $3. When you think back you can get like pandan leaves for like 0.20. But yeah well, its a taste of home. Poor Shawn who went down with us was the carrier of our stuff and we had quite abit of stuff. After our Chinese foodstuff shopping and armed and satisfied with bags and bags of them, we decided to go to a Taiwanese dessert shop to have expensive tau huey. A bowl of normal costs about 2.75. Exorbitant prices but yeah, a taste of home is always good. But we decided to go for the kill (of prices) while waiting for Wayne to come from his project group meeting (poor guy). Jo had her Sesame tau huey while I had Mango xi mi lu and Shawn had Cripsy Skin tau huey which had a disclaimer takes about 15 mins to prepare, So while Jo and I finish up our desserts, Shawn had to watch in agony... But when it came.. It had the WOW factor..

Jo quickly took the bowl and snapped pictures of it with herself.

And Jo and I were bored waiting for me and starting taking pictures..

After which, we had dinner at Cybercity and the guys sent us home when Teddy called us half way. We were supposed to go play mahjong at their place but now they decided to have coffee at Milton. So Jo and I took a train down to Milton.

This is Teddy and me. Its his photography (which he blames on my handphone)

Mahjong.. A game that I just learnt this year over the CNY break. How interesting these skills come into handly in this down under country. Before I came over, I could never understand the reasoning behind people playing this game. In fact, I dont understand the game at all, period. Ruikun taught me till I think he 'vomitted blood', cos I never seem to understand anything at all. Maybe also its due to the fact that when we played in Singapore, money was involved. Nevertheless, my hands were itching to play again when I was told that some people in Ipswich had a mahjong set... Yesterday I had my chance..

Well, it was just a innocent dinner in Ipswich. Well, its pretty far for an innocent dinner but I swear, that was what it was supposed to be. Till the mahjong set came out. But driving through Ipswich is really an experience again. Driving through that place makes me think how much I miss that place. Now I know how important memories are for us cos Ipswich is a place of memories. I always thought to myself that I would not be able to handle Ipswich, driving through all those familiar roads and places, memories that I dont know if I want to keep. But I realised that it was not as bad as I thought it would be. Really, and I now I can take on South Bank. Full battle gear and all.. One day, I'll. Anyway back to mahjong (whatever happened to dinner?), we were bored and hungry (6 of us sharing a box of Chicken in a Biskit is pathetic) and Joshua and Wilson were told to entertain us. The mahjong set came out. Woo hoo.. Everyone immediately paid attention and because I was such a klutz playing it in Singapore, I didnt dare to play alone. So I paired up with Jo (half of her experience and half of mine makes a person, random comment) and the first game we played, we WON! With zi mo. The amazing thing was we were just commenting, now we are just waiting for zi mo, and the next thing we know, the next tile that came up was ours. That infamous ba tong...

And dinner- was 8 pizzas (meatozarous is great by the way) and a tray of 41 honey grilled drumsticks and angel's hair spagetthi (sp?). We were full all right.. Did some chit chatting, washing up and tv watching.. AND more mahjong at 1030pm. Baby called at 1130pm and Baby is my lucky star. Cos when he called, I zi mo again! on my own this time. Mahjong, the game of laughter and seriousness as well. Well, its good that we dont play money in this cos I think I'll be too stressed out. Best thing is Teddy called me and asked me to fill in as a mahjong kaki last night. And I was like, hm.. I'm in Ipswich playing mahjong too..

Last night is the night of Mahjong Galore. Now back to reality for my 3 horrendous mid sem exams and assignments due straight after the break.

A friend of mine post this on the friendster bulletin. He's a friend that I consider dear to me cos of all the joy he brought to my working life. Somehow, his lame jokes and stuff always manage to cheer me up when I'm. Words that he said, I feel are so true..

In this world, there are bound to have
bad things happen, "times are bad"
stituation, Gf crying for breakup, Bf
betraying, couples fighting..... but
remember without the good things, the
good times, how do u actually "see'' all
the above as bad. instead of complaining
about n clinging to these bad periods,
why not think about how to make things
like the good times.

No matter how bad the situations, there
are bound to be solution to make things
better. Most of the time is beacuse our
head is not clear, that is why we can see
the solution. Try talking to someone,
parents, gf, bf or friends. There are bound
to be a suitable person to speak to. They
might not be able to provide the best
solutions or maybe not even a solution
but it will definintely lessen the "load" on
your shoulder.

Attempting to hurt urself is definitely not
the best soultion, in fact, it is the worst ...
no.. its not even a solution. It not only
will physically hurt, it also mentally hurt u
n those around u. Believe me, try talking
to somone about ur problem. It will
help....

So my dear friends, live strong and live life to the fullest. Dont let things get you down cos well to me, sometimes they are not worth it to let those issues get us down.

Hey all, I havent havent blogged in ages. Not that I dont have anything to blog about, just that I think I dont have the time to blog. Have been pretty busy lately with moving and the starting of school. Well, currently I'm in school blogging. Having a 2 hour break is tough here. Ok, not that tough but just that last year whenever I had a 2 hr break, I would go home, have lunch and amble my way back to school. Now I have to bring lunch to school(budget budget), slack around in the library(which is not easy to get a terminal) till my research participation project thingy comes up. But yeah I suppose living in this area is much better than living in Ipswich.

School has started for a week now. This is my second week. I would say I'm pretty excited but textbooks are so expensive. And currently we dont have a phone line, so its one line shared between the 3 of us. Its kinda sad really to ration our days like that but I guess its only fair. We only get to use the net when we need to print notes or stuff like checking uni email or forums. Quite quite a restriction. I only get to call my parents on wednesdays and sundays. And of cos calling Ruikun as well....

When I have the time, I would really blog about my first 2 weeks back here. Its quite an experience really. Just a note to let you guys know I'm still around.. Better start missing me.. :P
